Product Description:
Radar level measurement is a safe solution even under extreme process conditions (pressure, temperature) and vapors. Radar can also be used in hygienic applications for non-contact level measurement. Radar versions are available for different industries like for water/wastewater, the food industry, life sciences or the process industry. Various antenna versions for every kind of radar applications are available.
How it works
The general principle of FM continuous wave radar level meter is that the radar emits electromagnetic waves on the top of the tank, and the frequency difference between the received signal and the transmitted signal is 6f after the electromagnetic wave is reflected by the radar and the distance R on the surface of the medium is proportional to the relationship between R = C (speed) * 8f (frequency difference) /2/K (frequency modulation slope). Because the speed of light C and the slope K of frequency modulation are known, the distance R of the material surface of the radar installation location can be obtained by estimating the frequency difference of 8f, and then the height of the material level is obtained by subtracting the spatial distance from the radar to the material surface (referred to as air height) through the total height of the known tank.

Applications:
This DTS-RD Radar Level Transmitter is applicable for high silos, segmented containers, containers with mising systems, silos with reforcing struts, mounting close to the vessel vall. Such as Grain Storage, Bran, Fumed silica, Very light fly ash, Plastic powder, Dry wood chips, Cement, Cement silo etc, all these could use DTS-RD to monitor the level.
